Can't Hide Desktop Icons

I've been interested in Rainmeter recently, and I've been using it for a few weeks now. Without any problems I used to be able to hide my desktop icons. But then, my brother (he's better at tech than me) messed with my computer. Since that, I can't hide my desktop icon. The button is still there when I right click desktop, but if I click it, it does nothing.
