Several issues with my laptop

I have several issues with windows 7, and I tried using online guides, but nothing seems to be fixing it.

The first issue (these could all be connected, for all I know) I keep getting an error when I try to update windows.I get code 80080005. One guide told me to unregister/re-register windows update, and when I try entering "net start MSIServer" I get the service name is invalid. Google chrome keeps crashing on me, and other programs like Adobe can't update.

I have norton that scans daily, along with CCleaner and Advanced System Care that I run everyday. I also run a defrag several times a week.

I have other issues with my laptop, but I think this is the big one currently. Thank you for the help; it is much appreciated!
