Wireless connection appears available but when connecting "Limited Access"

Dear experts, I got a tough one for you.

My friend has a brand new Dell Latitude laptop with Win 7 on it. It's his business laptop so it's quite secure, i.e. he needs a password just to unlock the hard drive.

At the current job site we have a Cisco Linksys wireless router that looks like this: http://www.psnation.com/2011/11/07/r...inment-bridge/

His issue is this: the wireless connection signal appears strong, there are no indications that there would be anything wrong...

However, as soon as he wants to go to BBC sports or somesuch website, the yellow exclamation mark symbol appears in the lower right of the screen and the browser fails to connect. Also the text "Limited Access" appears in the wireless connection list.

I also have Win 7 and can connect to the internet at the office just fine. My laptop is from 2012.

I checked the connection properties, he does have an IP allocated automatically without issue and there are no problems with the Wifi adaptor, no driver issues, nothing wrong in Device Manager.

He can use the wireless connection at the hotel just fine, but the one at work, as soon as he tries to connect to any website (even google) he gets the "Limited access" message.

Any thoughts?

My own POV is that either his IT guy secured the h*** out of his laptop or the router from 2011 is too old to work with his brand new laptop.

This is a pretty weird issue, so thanks much for any input.

Cheers
