Hi
I'm new to this site and I'm not even sure if I'm in the right section but I sure hope you can help me
I have a MSI VR602 laptop computer.
The Hard drive is 160gb Western Digital and is now starting to fail so I bought another but this one is a 500gb HGTS, however the bios will not recognise this drive.
As I can't get it to run, I had a rethink and now the plan is to put a Samsung PRO 40 256gb SSD into the laptop.
When I went to the computer shop to purchase this, I was told that I would have the same problem with my Bios if I tried the SSD. He wouldn't tell me what to do but suggest I bring the unit in and they would fix it....at a price.
I don't want to pay if it is something that I can fix myself, with the help of you kind people. The SSD costs enough.
The Bios version installed is Version 1 and I haven't been able to find an upgrade
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Rod
