Win 7 usb problem with Walkman

Hello!

We have the following problem:
After power on, Windows 7 doesn't recognize Sony Walkman (NWZ-E383) in a
proper way.

- After connecting the Walkman to the USB port, it says:
"USB Connected. The Timer and Alarm will not function".

-> Battery indicator doesn't begin to show that the battery is being
charged. It just stays still
-> Windows Media Player doesn't "see" the Walkman
--> Same problem persists with every USB port, and changing cables
doesn't help
--> Same problem with another Walkman (NWZ-B172F)
--> Other USB devices works as usual (mouse, mobile wifi)

-> Device Manager does see it as a portable device, with a yellow
exclamation mark
--> Error code is 37
--> We have tried to update the drivers, it says that they are up to
date (6.1.7600.16385), but Walkman still doesn't get recognized
--> We have removed the device driver, and then unplugged the Walkman,
plug it back in, after which windows automatically installs it. Walkman
works now normally but after the computer is rebooted, the windows
doesn't recognize it anymore. Back to square 1.
--> If the computer is not rebooted or shut down, but put into
hibernate/sleep mode, and then powered up, the walkman still works normal

-> We have also tried "sfc /scannow", and it reports quite a lot of
problems but it doesn't help with this issue. We cannot decipher the cbs
logfile.
-> We have tried clean the registry with CCleaner (v. 4.14.4707 64bit)
to no effect (as we recall)
-> We have tried Microsoft Fixit Devices, which says that Walkman has a
driver problem. It suggests reinstalling the walkman, which remedies the
situation (Walkman now gets recognized, begins to charge the battery
etc) until next reboot.

-> Walkman does get recognized by another PC, it starts recharging etc.
-> Perhaps the problem started right after trying several free antivirus
software (Avast, Bitdefender, AVG, Zonealarm firewall at least), so it
might be that something is not allowing permanent register changes? Now
we use Avast, MSE, Zonealarm firewall.

We have tried to search the web for hours but cannot find the solution.
Next thing in mind is to remove Zonealarm, or to take off the battery
from the computer. (In one case the error 37 was due to iTunes, and
reinstalling that remedied the situation). In Win 8, taking off the
battery helped in another, somewhat similar situation.

Any ideas?
