Hello forum!
Here is the scenario. Client brings me his HP mini 110 with XP installed; system is barely running, networking is not working, etc. I then noticed another symptom, I could type in a command prompt window, but no where else. If I attempted to type in say: the "run" dialog box, I could not.
Being XP is obsolete and his mini is win 7 compatable, I figured, " he probably is loaded up with virus's (there were other clues pointing to malware as well), I'll just install win 7 on the machine and be done with it." Not quite so simple; win 7 installed along with all the necessary drivers, EVERYTING works fine, except the typing problem carried over from XP?!?!?!!? I can type in a command prompt, but no where else! If it's a hardware or driver issue, why can I type in command prompt? If it's a software issue why did it carry over from XP? WTF? I'm stumpped
Thanks guys and gals!!
