For the last couple of weeks my computer has been having some... interesting problems. It started with the computer freezing roughly one or two minutes after reaching the desktop upon turning on. Sometimes the desktop would be tinted a very light blue, but this wasn't too consistent and didn't seem to appear unless my background was visible.This was typically resolved by going into safe mode and restarting my computer from there. I've tried virus and malware scans several times but neither seems to have resolved the issue. Aside from some stuff in a Chrome folder (which I rarely use) there was nothing out of the ordinary.
Lately, instead of freezing, the computer has been BSoDing. When it attempts to restart automatically from the BSoD windows is incapable of starting normally (and using the windows repair tool doesn't seem to do anything but lead to the freeze/BSoD issue already existing); it cites that Windows is unable to start and BSoDs.
The baffling thing is that starting my computer after having it run in safe mode seems to resolve all issues and cause the computer to start normally. I can't imagine a single issue that could be resolved this way, or even why that would help, but given that the problem is growing steadily worse/does not appear to be abating no matter what I try, I felt I should ask you guys.
Could it be a virus or rootkit? Is my hardware failing? I'm completely lost.
