connecting an extra monitor on expand

Hi


I have a laptop (running windows 7) this I regularly do with another laptop of mine, I connect to my tv to serve as a second monitor, this I do with expand so I can continue to work at the same time. However whenever I plug my hdmi into this laptop and select expand in the options. It displays on the tv the destop but the laptop screen turns blue (like the load up screen) but without ANY icons or task bar etc


This is the only computer I have that has this problem, If anyone has any ideas why this computer isn't acting properly.
