Windows 7 DLL Error -- C:\Windows\system32\AVIFIL32.dll

DLL Error: Windows\system32\AVIFIL32.dll error

Hello all, (apologies for cross posting to Business Applications Forum, too. I did not study the forums carefully enough.)

My vendor has claimed inability to help with this dll problem after I try to run my paid for software installation of Adobe Flash Professional CS4 (Windows) on the Bootcamp Windows partition of my iMac, both of which I have been using normally for 3 years. Vendor claims the ONLY solution is that I must perform a complete "clean" install of my Windows 7 OS. This is not an option for me because I will lose irreplaceable software.

I would be most grateful if anyone could help me resolve the error message I receive below:

C:\Windows\system32\AVIFIL32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

But,MS Office Suite is already installed and works perfectly on my Windows partition.. Also, I have already successfully installed and run much other Adobe software on this Bootcamped partitioned disk, including Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Only Flash will not start up -- I receive the DLL message above when I attempt start up Flash. I got confused about how to register the file, or run a scan now. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

Help, please, I bought software -- Flash -- and cannot open it up to run successfully. My vendor cannot help me further. I simply cannot lose the software that is already installed on my Windows 7 OS.

Thank you again.
Neal Davis

Ps. My apologies for posting this message in the Business Application Forum, too. I overlooked this Forum, and my search was too complicated to bring me here first.
