Memory pop ups

I am using an HP Pavilion G6 w/ 4GB mem. For the last few months I am getting almost every day an MS pop up stating I am low on memory. I don't understand why. This also happens first time in the morning when I open the laptop cover. There are no active apps running. I have run numerous times my AV, anti malware/spyware apps and all is clean. Any ideas as to what can be done or I can do? Using FF now as my everyday browser. Task manager reads generally during theda using about 103 to 108 processes. Possibly a bad sim?
