Hello. I recently formatted my computer since the harddrives started to fill up quite good. And I thought it would be nice to have a fresh install again.
But now I kinda regret it...
I'm gonna give you as much info as I can here, so the post might get a bit long.
Here are my system specs directly from dxdiag:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.8GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
Complete DxDiag uploaded.
So I put in my windows 7 installation disk and restarted the computer. Then I completely cleaned the harddrives and istalled it. But after I had installed several updates from Windows Update and installing drivers I went on to youtube to watch a few videos.
But a few minutes in the computer completely froze until it recovered again after about 30 seconds.
I decided to look in the Task Manager to see the Processor usage, and every time it freezes all the cores spike up to 100%.

Sorry for it being in Swedish, but you can compare it to your own if you need to.
So these are the things I have done to try and fix it:
1. Defragment all the harddrives
2. Use a cmd command called "sfc /scannow" to scan for errors
3. Use the installation disks repair tool
4. Right click on the video and stop hardware acceleration(maybe poorly translated, I use chrome)
5. Go into windows safe-mode with internet. Worked perfectly there.
6. Run benchmark tests to see possible hardware problems.
Still the same. And at this time I noticed that the same thing happens when I start games since my first game was finally done on the computer.
So I keep trying to fix it and I read it might be the wireless card that can cause the problem. So reading that I remember the computer studder at times when I went from cable to wireless before I formatted the computer. So that might help you solve it :grin:
Now hopefully it isn't a hardware failure. But I also tried a program that monitor the temperature on your hardware. And my SSD got an error saying it was at 128 degrees celsius. But then I read that, that can be a standard value when it can't read the temperature properly...
I've been trying to fix this for 2 days now so I think I got everything now in this thread.
I guess it was about time to ask experts on a tech forum. And yes I have googled it alot and found alot of fourm posts, but none of them worked/was my exact problem.
Oh yeah! I just remembered now that it froze once today when just opening a regular program. Weird...
