I think my question has a relatively simple answer, but I want to make sure. I'm running an HP 2000 notebook with Windows 7 and an AMD E-450 processor with at 1.6 GHz speed, and 4 gigs of RAM. It functions adequately, but it's getting along in years and it shows. It has trouble running more than one program at a time, especially if iTunes or most internet sites is running. I use Chrome as my browser. I'm faithful about running the disk cleanup and emptying the cache. I think the thing is just showing its age.
I'm in the market for a new computer within the next couple of weeks. I'd like to wipe this one clean and use it as either as one to fall back on if the new one ever has major problems, or as a way to store files. It didn't come with a recovery disk, and I didn't create one, nor did I save the OEM Key. The recovery drive (D) is intact. How do I reformat it and just start over without a disk
Though I follow instruction well, I'm relatively clueless when it comes to computers, so please! use plain English rather than techspeak or I'm apt to get lost along the side of the road. Thanks!!
