I have been trying to install Windows updates on one of our computers. However, everytime I try to install them, the updates fail. There are 36 updates. I have tried the following so far:
1. Installed every Microsoft Windows Updates Fix-its I could find (including re-installing the update agent)
2. Created a new administrator account, to run the updates from that account
3. From a cmd prompt: net stop wuauserv <enter>
rename c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old <enter>
net start wuauserv <enter>
exit <enter>
4. Install updates individually. I did not try all 36 individually, but every one I did try failed.
None of the above has worked. The updates download with no problem, it is when they attempt to install that the difficulties happen. I receive various error codes: 8E5E03FB, 8E5E0147, 9C57. I have searched these codes online but have not found any solutions that have worked. I am hoping someone can help, because I have already spent way too much time on this one computer (it is one of 21 computers in a lab room, the others all work fine and all 21 have the exact same configuration and software installed).
