Problems with updates

I posted this a month or so ago. The updates aren't for my computer so the system tries to load them, then has to remove them. I was given instructions by lunarlander to resolve the problem and it worked great - net stop Wuauserv - %windir% - rename SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistributionOld - net start Wuauserv.

I thought my computer had locked up one night so I held the "On" button to shut it down. The fix I made no longer worked. I followed the instructions again but not with the same results.

Please help
