I have a HP Compaq with Windows 7. Just recently the CD/DVD RW drive won't read disks. Ended up running Microsoft Fix It, and it works, but only until I shut down. When I restart the computer, it again won't read a disk, and I have to re-run Fix It. This is obviously a software issue, but haven't figured out the cause. Have no Upper or Lower Filters in the Registry that I can find for the device. Audio lowers volume for a short time on its own sometimes now too. Anyone come across this?
