This one really has me pulling my hair out fellas. I'm trying to do a clean install of windows 7. The CD/DVD drive shows up in the bios as does the HDD. The first boot device is set to the DVD/CD drive. Unfortunately, I get a "DISC BOOT FAILURE, REINSERT SYSTEM DISC AND PRESS ENTER" when I try to boot the machine. I have replaced the DVD/CD drive with one that is known to be good. I have switched out the ribbon cable going to the DVD/CD drive and the SATA cable going to the HDD. I have pulled the battery and reinserted on the motherboard and reset the bios. I have tried different discs that will all boot from my other computer. What else could I check? :(
