Hi everyone...
The issue started with the user not being able to bring up Devices and Printers. It just hangs...
Asus K53E - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit - Intel Core i3 - 8GB RAM - Devices and Printers Hangs. Never opens. I have tried the "Bluetooth Services" fix that I've seen around the 'net. No help.
I tried the stuff here: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-7/...-printers.html
When I stop the spooler service, I can bring up the Devices and Printers window. (it also works in Safe Mode)
The only Dependent service for Print Spooler is FAX.
I go to the FAX service and it won't start...curious.
I check the registry and find blew away the keys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax\Accounts entry.
I disabled Fax and Scan in "Turn Windows Features on or off"
reboot.
I go to re-enable Fax and Scan and it Hangs on "...this may take several min." (the system responds normally. The window never goes away. Hard boot makes the Configuration fail and roll back. I left it for over an hour with no change)
any help?
