This may be a program error, may be a hardware error, may be a virus, may be OS error, so not sure where to really put it, so I apologize in advance if it is not in the right place....
Recently been getting the BSOD somewhat frequently and seemingly random (to me, but maybe not at all random), then today a new problem, all programs (or all the ones I tried, Firestorm, Radegast) either stop responding immediately after opening, a few seconds after opening or don't open altogether. The "check for a solution" does nothing, just acts like it is searching then closes with no response. Even Windows explorer stopped working a couple of times. Finally to top it all off get this error pop -up: Microsoft .net error reporting shim has stopped working. Then the Autoplay box popped up for the C drive, so now seeing the C drive as something just plugged in 2x today. Then something said the Watson client stopped working.
I had recently installed Steam and activated my code for Batman, which came with my GPU, which I have not put in yet, but I did that all Friday and haven't opened Steam or Batman since. All the problems but the random BSOD's started today and I have not made any program or hardware changes today or since Friday with the download of the above.
(Another side issue or maybe not....I recently put a CD in my DVD/BlueRay drive, for the first time in probably 6 months) and it didn't start playing, so I went to manually start it only to realize my computer was not even showing the drive, even in Device Manager. So I unplugged it and plugged into the SATA port right next to the one it was in and it started working, then after about a min and half, BSOD. So I unplugged it and tried it back in the original SATA port it was in and not only did it not recognize it again but continually BSOD until I just unplugged it from the MOBO. Now I have been getting BSOD of deaths still but they aren't this drive as it is not plugged in currently, but maybe a sign of some sort to some grand overall issue).
I have recently added a new monitor but the BSOD issues started before that. I did try to download the utility to read the dump file but got an error it didn't install correctly so I still don't know what the dump files say about the BSOD.
I have bitdefender anti-virus and ran it, which I guess is one program that does not crash o.O, in any case it came back with a few cookies it deleted but nothing serious that I can tell.
Any ides, SSD drive going out? Program issue? Virus? OS issue? If any one has any ideas I would really appreciate some guidance. This computer is my baby besides my car and this is making me very sad and frustrated.
