There is some problem with my Dell laptop that arose during deleting one of the partitioning that I had in my Windows. I had a Dual boot system with linux and after re-installing windows I tried to remove the extra partitions. Now the screen freezes upon booting and wont boot with windows or linux mint DVD (with linux it gives the following error "kernel- panick - not syncing, out of memory and no killable process"). Iv tried the other usual things like system repair, safe mode etc.
I tried an UBUNTU DVD and tried to boot it, but there are again some errors "Error info about modifications to partition /dev/sda1 - Device or resources busy".
I am trying to remove the old operating system since I have files backed up, and install any of the new OS. Any guidance or help would be appreciated.
