Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Error on Startup

Hi I'm having a problem with the above named Runtime error on Startup in Windows 7 Home Premium. I get similar errors when starting some programs such as Picasa.

There is a reference to R6034 and the message says "An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I'm not sure what application is causing the problem or what to do about it. I've had the computer about a year and a half and this just started. Will it help to run any software such as Auslogics Boost Speed which fixes some types of errors (broken shortcuts, registry errors, and other stuff.)? Appreciate any help here, and I know some variations of this problem have been dealth with here, but I can't find the specific one.

Hello I recently purchased a barebones pc from nova tech this is the first time I've bought a pc which wasn't fully built.
The specs of the pc are as follows:
Intel Core i7 4770K - 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz - Intel Z87 Chipset Motherboard - Novatech Mid Tower Case & 750W PSU
Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB 64MB Cache Hard Drive SATA 6 Gb/s 7200rpm - OEM
Crucial M500 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti - Graphics card - GF GTX 650 Ti - 2 GB GDDR5 - PCI Express

When I install windows 7 it goes through the install like a breeze, I didn't install an optical drive so I used the windows 7 USB preparation tool I downloaded from Microsoft put my windows 7 disk in and it prepared it to my USB Harddrive.
But when it gets to the end of the install it says that the computer needs to restart but it does not restart if I press CRT alt and delete it will restart the computer but when I try and boot from my ssd drive it won't let me I've tried installing it multiple times and everytime there's no difference but I can see that there is -4gb of data on my ssd

Display Adapters stop working after Win7 update

I updated my windows and for some reason my second monitor stopped working right. It would take the same screen resolution as my laptop and I couldn't change it. I restarted the computer multiple times and it changed nothing. I uninstalled both the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M drivers then restarted so they would reinstall. It didn't fix anything. They both have errors, the Chipset says: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupt or missing.(Code 39) The NVIDIA says: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot laod the drivers required for this device (Code 31) I have tried having them work seperately and it does nothing. I have also installed both the drivers from their respective websites and it still did not fix the problem. Whenever I start the computer with the second monitor unplugged, and then plug it in later it doesn't seem to recognize it, but if I turn the computer on with it plugged in, it works but doesn't recognize it as a second monitor and only runs it like the laptop monitor.

If there is any extra information needed let me know, any and all help is appreciated.

Unable to select picture

I'm going to describe this problem the best I can. When I go on Google and for instance type in Boeing 737 or other subjects with pictures, then I select "Image" of the picture, I get a whole slew of pictures on the subject. Then I select (left click) one of the pictures and normally that picture will stand out on its own but my problem was that when I do that nothing happens. I tried on different subjects but still the problem persists. This only happened yesterday when I was collecting pictures of commercial jets I planned to use as screensaver. Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks

BSoD when playing games.

Hello,
BSoD while playing Final Fantasy 14, Minecraft, 7 days to die or Sim city can happen within 10 mins or 2+hours, I have tried Updating drivers(Graphics,Processor), Reinstalling Windows, Defrag, Disk cleanup, Disk repairs. The system is around 3-4 years old.

I also have crystaldiskinfo running which shows a yellow caution on "Current Pending Sector Count" Is this bad? also my hard drive has failed to load up the OS twice in the past, Is my hard drive breaking? will that cause BSoD?
I'm looking for advice before i spend money buying a new hard drive.

ASUS laptop tech problems

Hi,

I've had an ASUS i5 laptop for a couple of years now and till recently was fine, until I installed AVG Internet Protection software; this software decided that the ACMON executable and something else I didn't recognise were a threat and removed them while I was away from my keyboard. I'm now having a huge problem in that I can't actually get to my logon screen when Windows is started normally; the mouse pointer comes up but the screen is completely dark as though the OS thinks it's there but the user can't see it.
I have tried to shut it down and restarted it in safe mode which seems to work (so I don't think that it's an issue with my graphics card), but this seems to be the only thing that works. Has anyone else had this problem before?
Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks to anyone who responds.

Solved: Help needed with Windows 7 update problem

$

So, a friend's laptop was having problems and I ended up replacing a failing hard drive. I re-installed Windows 7 64-bit from installation media created when the laptop was first purchased. It's a HP G62 (G62-373DX).

Anyway, after re-installing Windows 7, I'm not able to perform a Windows update. Every time I try, I get this message in a popup window:
Quote:

Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart the computer.
Of course, this happens every time I attempt to run a Windows update and it happens even after I reboot the system. I've confirmed BITS, Windows Installer, Windows Update, and the Cryptography services are running. I've searched the web and found some "Fix It" tools which did identify problems, but couldn't fix them. In one case, I ran the "sfc /scannow" command and it detected some system files that were missing or corrupt but couldn't fix the problem.

So, at this point, I think the problem might be one of these things:
  • The new hard drive is bad
  • The optical drive is bad
  • The recovery media I used to re-install is bad

The new hard drive is a 500GB Western Digital SATA 3.0 Gb/s drive. The recovery media was burned on consumer grade media, back when the system was first purchased. I don't know how old the media is. I have new recovery media from HP on its way to me now. I'll give that a try, when it arrives.

With regard to the new hard drive being bad, the first time I encountered the above Windows Update problem, I checked the new hard drive with Seagate's SeaTools for DOS (booted from a CD). It detected some bad sectors on the drive. So, I put the drive in another laptop and rechecked it and the drive checked cleanly. So, I put it back in the original laptop and the drive checked cleanly. I'm not sure what to make of that.

With regard to the optical drive being bad, I've had intermittent problems with the laptop booting my Hitachi Drive Fitness Test CD, my Seagate Seatools for DOS CD, and my Western Digital Diagnostics CD. I've managed to get all three CDs to boot, but it did take a little effort. I wonder if a failing optical drive resulted in a bad Windows recovery image being written to the new hard drive and used for the system recovery.

In any event, I'm currently stuck. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Peace...

I dont know if this computer came with Windows 7
or if it was upgraded to Windows 7

Two days ago I got fed up with waiting as long as 4 minutes for a clik to proceed.
Had a savvy guy come tinker some.
When he left all was good.
Clik. boom clik. boom
Visual effects is what he blamed.
Now is slowing and stalling some already.
If I open any program, browser wont respond to anything till program has been open
for about two minutes
Even entering the text in this post has stalled 4 times
Chrome flash crashes about twice a day.
Scrolling sucks on many occasions.
Mouse pointer freezes in place alot.
-----------------------------------------------------------
could a monitor problem be contributing?
Samsung syncmaster has to be powered off when not in use to prevent it from
freezing in sleep mode
a computer shut down and waiting time before restart is required to get moniter to work again

Fine tuning of desktop icon appearance?

$

I an in the middle an update from XP to Win-7. Everything is going fine so far, but I don't like the way the desktop icons are shown. Under XP you could go to an "advanced" set of options and adjust the appearance of just about anything.

When I did a similar upgrade on a laptop a couple of years ago, I discovered that the same set of adjustments are available in Win-7, but as far as I can tell, you have to fall back to a "basic" non-aero theme to get to them.

My particular concern is that I'd like to rescale the desktop icons to about half of their default size, and reduce the spacing between them. Mostly so I can fit everything I want on the desktop into two columns.

Is there some hidden way to accomplish this? I've found that the theme file is in plain ascii text, and I'm wondering if I can find the appropriate variables and set them by brute force? Or is there some way to get to the appearance adjustment settings without giving up the aero features?

BSOD win32k.sys PAGE_FAULT when resizing text in Flash CS6

Hi there!

I'm at a loss to figure out how to fix this issue.

Here's what's happening (see Vine post):
https://vine.co/v/ManHuxrKLmm

This screenshot was taken from my phone (tilted 90degrees, since this is capturing one of my tall screens)

In Flash CS6, when I resize the font "Oswald" (which comes in 3 families, Book, Light and Bold), it suddenly freezes up, glitches the screen (video looks warped as if the GPU has gone berzerk). It also seems to happen by simply double-clicking the TextField containing the "Oswald" font.

I saved two crash-dump reports for analysis.
http://pierrechamberlain.ca/crashdum...rashList_A.htm (most recent)
http://pierrechamberlain.ca/crashdum...rashList_B.htm (occured before 'A')

I apologize if I was supposed to provide this in another format than HTML, but I figured this would be easier to read.

And my system specs:
